Description

Known locally as Waterloo Screens this location in its seclusion is literally a Calm Oasis. Here I was inspired by the photographers image and have captured the evening sunset catching the tops of the trees before dipping and sending the pond into darkness.

Still quiet water, guarded by columns lit in the evening light

Lily pads float, flowers peep shyly, sleepily closing as evening descends

Reflections lay across the surface, just before the night

Steals the picture from us, leaving us with memories of days end

Colours seem precious, lasting only moments

Praised for their beauty, cherished for their brevity

Hearts beat, uplifted, lost for comments

Thoughts return to memories of levity

When on a bright sunny day joy sprang unsuspecting

As through a clearing in the woodland

This picture unfolded, of water reflecting

A beauty that most of us miss, and if seen, would not understand
